"There aren't enough contractors in the area who are as conscientious
and caring as Ken Nansteel. When you want to remodel, update or have
a real dilemma as to what improvements would be best, Ken is your
man. His expertise, of course, is tile. However, his experience
encompasses more than floors, back-splashes, showers and hearths. Our
kitchen needed an update and he was referred to us. Always putting my
ideas first, he came up with a beautiful selection. Our kitchen floor
turned out so perfect that we quickly decided to tile the entire foyer
as well. Glass tiles were laid above the granite counter top as a
focal point to my wine/beverage area. Tumbled marble backsplash
accented everything and nothing was too much trouble for Ken. What
really impressed us is that Ken took the time to put plastic up all
around my house so I wouldn't have a lot of dust/debris floating
around as they completed the project. As you can see on his website,
my 'Casa dolce casa' tile turned out perfect. Thank you, Ken Nansteel."
-Mr. & Mrs. Landis
Ken was engaged to tile a little over 1,000 square feet plus create a decorative glass tile background for the bathroom wash basin area. As usual, I met with 3 people recommended for this project. I am a retired psychologist and cannot help using my impressions about what kind of person I'm dealing with as well as the quote they provide to decide my selection. My judgment was that Ken was an honest, straightforward person who seemed more focused than the others on understanding the professional challenges this particular job offered than on selling himself with grand assurances of his “expertise.” I felt he was very serious about his work, and needed it to be the best possible.
And, now that Ken has finished the job, it's so clear I was right. Ken and his crew spent all the time and effort necessary to meticulously prepare that floor before applying the first tile. And the fact that he took the time and care necessary to plan that application in in a manner that produced a floor that provided a sense of pleasing balance from any angle demonstrated to us that he was primarily driven to do the job right.
We thank him for his diligence, and love the result. That his quote for this work was a little lower than others was also a bonus. The facts that he was better than advertised, and that his two employees seemed as dedicated to excellence as he was, were very gratifying bonuses. I would be pleased to recommend Ken to others who might be considering his services."
